FlixBus Issued Only $2 Voucher Instead of Full Refund for Unused Ticket

On July 5, 2025, I purchased an online ticket from FlixBus for a trip from Florence to Rome, Italy. However, just 1–2 hours after purchasing the ticket, I experienced a severe menstrual hemorrhage accompanied by intense pain. Due to the heavy bleeding, I had to cancel my trip. My scheduled departure time was 11:10 PM.

According to FlixBus’s ticket policy, cancellations made up to 3 hours before the trip are eligible for a refund. I canceled my ticket 10 hours before departure. Yet, when I requested a refund, I was issued only a $2 voucher valid until 2026, even though my ticket cost $13.98. I immediately filed an objection, clearly stating that I wanted a full refund, not a voucher. FlixBus, however, only sent this $2 coupon. Since I have no plans to return to Florence, the voucher is completely useless to me.

I searched for a customer service number to contact FlixBus but was instead connected to Kamil Koç, who informed me they couldn’t assist with international tickets. They gave me a German phone number for FlixBus, but since I don’t speak German, I was unable to communicate. Both Kamil Koç and FlixBus were completely unhelpful.

I demand that my full payment be refunded, as I did not use the service. I also contacted Omio, the platform I purchased through, but they redirected me back to FlixBus. In short, none of the companies—FlixBus, Omio, or Kamil Koç—took responsibility or issued a refund.

I am requesting that a company representative or manager personally contact me by phone and provide an official written response regarding the legal process. I have also submitted my complaint to CİMER (the Turkish Presidential Communication Center) for record. I expect my issue to be resolved promptly and my refund processed in full.
