Capitec Bank Charged Interest Even Though I Paid Before the Due Date

I am raising a complaint regarding the interest that was charged on my Capitec credit card, even though my debit order was fully paid before the due date. On 5 May 2026, I paid the full debit order amount that Capitec indicated I needed to pay for that period. Despite this, in the early hours of 6 May 2026, I noticed that an interest amount of R101.50 had been charged on my credit card purchases. I have consistently paid the amounts requested by Capitec on time, and I paid this particular instalment before the due date. For this reason, I do not understand why interest was added to my purchases after I had settled the required amount in full. I kindly request that Capitec review the interest calculation for this period and confirm whether an error may have occurred on their side. If there has been a mistake, I expect the incorrect interest amount of R101.50 to be reversed and my credit card statement to be corrected accordingly. I would also appreciate a clear explanation of how the interest was calculated in this case so that I can avoid similar issues in the future.
