I created a CV on Zety but cannot download it, what solutions work?

The main reason you can’t download your CV on Zety is not a bug but a limitation of their model.

You can build and edit for free, but downloading a properly formatted file (PDF/Word) requires a paid subscription, while free users only get a plain text (.txt) version.

The simplest fix is to upgrade temporarily (trial or monthly plan), download your CV, then cancel immediately to avoid further charges. This is the only official way to get a professional-looking file directly from Zety.

If you don’t want to pay, you can still access your content by choosing “Download → Plain Text” and then formatting it in Word or Google Docs yourself.

Alternatively, use your browser’s Print → Save as PDF option to create a basic version.
