The North Face Summit Superior FUTURELIGHT Jacket Deteriorates After Just 5 Wears

June 3 3:30 PM

I purchased the Men's Summit Superior FUTURELIGHT™ Graphic jacket directly from The North Face's official website about three months ago, and I have worn it a maximum of five times in total. Despite that, visible layer deterioration has appeared in multiple areas of the jacket, and seeing a product fall apart this quickly has been a real disappointment.
I sent the jacket in for inspection on May 21st. On June 3, 2026, it was returned to me with the claim that the damage was caused by user error — with no satisfying or detailed explanation provided. I absolutely refuse to accept that deformation of this severity, on a jacket worn fewer than five times, can simply be brushed off as user error.
I expect a brand like The North Face to stand behind its products, provide a detailed and convincing explanation of what caused this issue, and make things right. I am demanding that this inspection be redone — objectively and thoroughly — rather than dismissed with a blanket "user error" ruling.
