iPhone 12 Freezing After iOS 26 Update, Requesting Downgrade to iOS 18
After installing the iOS 26 update on my iPhone 12 on September 17, 2025, my device began experiencing severe freezing issues. The phone constantly lags and becomes unresponsive, especially when switching between apps, making smooth usage impossible. Before this update, I never had such problems, which clearly shows the issue is tied to iOS 26. I have not yet contacted Apple customer service and have not attempted any troubleshooting steps, but my device is no longer under warranty. Since this performance problem only started after updating, I am requesting a prompt solution from Apple—specifically, the ability to downgrade back to iOS 18, where my iPhone worked perfectly. A fast resolution is necessary to restore proper functionality.
