Discord Nitro Trial Automatically Renewed Without Authorization

On August 26, 2026, I started a Discord Nitro trial at no cost after seeing an offer for a 14-day free trial. I barely used the service during this period, as my only intention was to try it. Despite this, on September 9, 2026, my account was charged approximately $21 for an annual Nitro subscription listed as “Discord* nitroyearly.” I did not authorize this transaction, and as soon as I realized that the trial had automatically renewed, I wanted to initiate the refund process.

Before the 7-day legal cancellation period had expired, I opened a ticket through Discord’s own support system and requested a refund. I received only one response to my initial request, stating that the amount charged to my card was only a temporary authorization hold and would be released after a certain period of time. However, even after more than 10 business days had passed, there was no change either on my card or in my Discord transaction history indicating that the amount had been refunded or that the hold had been released. During this time, I also received confirmation emails stating that the “Nitro Yearly” subscription had been successfully purchased and that the payment had been received.

Although I continued writing through the same ticket, I have not received any further response for 16 days. When I opened new tickets, they were automatically closed as “resolved,” and once again, no one contacted me. In other words, Discord has effectively blocked the refund process by taking the payment while failing to respond to my support requests.

I request that Discord treat the $21 charge dated September 9, 2026, listed as “Discord* nitroyearly,” as an unauthorized automatic renewal that occurred after the 14-day trial and refund the full amount to my card. I also request that my support requests be properly reviewed instead of being automatically closed and that I receive a clear and specific response regarding my case.
