This can be fixed by repeating the descaling procedure with just water. In order for the machine to correctly register the descaling cycle, make sure you fill the water tank to the brim during the last two rinses.
After finishing the last rinse, turn the beverage dial one click in the direction of any coffee drink to complete the procedure.
Look for any possible blockages in the system if the machine is still not brewing. Even after descaling, mineral accumulation can obstruct internal components. To fix this, take out and thoroughly clean the portafilter and filter basket.
To remove any coffee grinds from the brew head, use a long, sharp pin. Such problems can be avoided with routine maintenance, such as cleaning the brew heads and portafilter once a week.
Should these actions fail to fix the issue, there may be an internal electrical malfunction or a more complicated problem that calls for expert help.
