I find the PlayStation Network very unsafe for children of all ages due to the prevalence of violence and bad language in every game. What measures are there to avoid this?

There are worries about the safety of kids on the PlayStation Network because of violent and sexual games. To ease those worries, Sony Interactive Entertainment gives parents information about game ratings and parental controls.
Parental controls on PlayStation let parents limit their kids' access to certain types of content based on ESRB ratings. Setting up parental controls so that games above a certain rating level are blocked is easy for parents.
Parents should read both the game's rating symbol and content descriptors to get the most out of these safety measures. Parents can make the PlayStation Network a safer place for their kids to play games by using parental controls and knowing what games are rated.

Information about ratings:
Sony Interactive Entertainment helps users by giving them information about products, like descriptions and ratings. They stress that these details can be used to help parents keep an eye on their kids. Parents are told to look over content before buying or watching it.
• ESRB Scores:
The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) applies and enforces ratings that the entertainment software industry has agreed upon on its own. Games are rated by how appropriate they are for different age groups, with different age groups shown by different symbols.
• EC (Early Childhood): This level is good for kids 3 years and up. Has no content that parents should not see.
• E (Everyone): It's okay for kids over 6 years old. There may be some mild violence, fantasy, or language.
• E10+ (Everyone 10 and up): This is appropriate for people 10 years and up. There may be more cartoon violence, mild language, and few sexual themes.
• Teen: For people 13 years or older. There may be violence, sexual content, crude humor, little blood, and/or strong language from time to time.
• M: This is appropriate for people aged 17 and up. There may be blood and gore, sexual content, violence, and/or bad language.

More information about the factors that went into a rating is given by content descriptors.
