I Faced Indifference From Azerbaijan Airlines Crew During Medical Emergency on Flight J2 8042

On September 1, 2025, I flew from Izmir to Baku on Azerbaijan Airlines flight J2 8042, seat 25C, together with my sister. During the flight, my sister developed a fever and started feeling extremely unwell. I repeatedly requested basic assistance from the flight attendants — specifically asking for medicine and a blanket. Despite asking three separate times, the only response we eventually received was, “We don’t have any medicine.” No further support or care was offered.

The cabin crew’s overall attitude was dismissive and careless, which made the situation even more stressful. It is deeply concerning that an airline of this size does not stock basic medical supplies on board, especially when passenger health is at risk.

Another issue was communication: the crew insisted on speaking in English, even though most passengers did not understand it. We find it unacceptable that passengers are not addressed in their own language, especially in urgent situations.

This is not the first time I’ve experienced such a problem with Azerbaijan Airlines. A similar incident occurred years ago, which led me to avoid the airline for a long time. Unfortunately, this recent event has completely destroyed any trust I had in the brand.

I demand that Azerbaijan Airlines ensure its staff are better trained to handle medical situations, treat passengers with more respect and empathy, and provide basic medical supplies on all flights. Furthermore, I expect the airline to take appropriate action regarding the crew members who behaved so indifferently during this flight.
