It's important to move quickly to get compensation if Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) lost your luggage.
You should go to the airport's Lost and Found desk right away and fill out the form as soon as you realise your bag is lost. You can also use the contact form on AZAL's website to send in an email application.
AZAL will give you a baggage file reference number, which is usually made up of four letters and five numbers (for example, GYDJ2123456), after you report the loss.
This number is very important for finding your luggage and should be included in all of your conversations with the airline. AZAL's website has a tracking number that you can use to check on the state of your lost luggage.
If your stuff is still missing, you might be able to get money. If your luggage is broken, you have seven days from the time your flight arrives to file a claim with AZAL's representation office.
