Microsoft Copilot keeps summarizing my private emails, how can I stop it?

If Microsoft Copilot is summarizing your private emails, check your Microsoft 365 settings and disable Copilot access in Outlook by turning off “Connected experiences” or admin-enabled Copilot features in your account privacy panel.

If you’re using a work account, ask your IT administrator to restrict Copilot’s access to mailbox data through Microsoft 365 admin center policies.

You can also limit exposure by marking emails as Confidential or applying sensitivity labels, which Copilot respects under Microsoft Purview data protection rules.

If needed, switch to classic Outlook view without Copilot enabled or sign out of Copilot integrations in your Microsoft account dashboard.
