If HDFC Bank’s UPI and app services were down for hours, that can happen and is usually due to system outages or maintenance rather than anything specific to your account.

Independent outage reports often show spikes in issues with app access, UPI payments and online banking when many customers report trouble at once, indicating a widespread service disruption.

Such outages have happened before when internal systems or multi-bank UPI infrastructure faults occur, temporarily affecting transactions across multiple banks including HDFC.

Banks also schedule planned maintenance windows that can take UPI and app features offline briefly, though these are normally announced in advance.
