I want to set up a private channel in Discord, how can I do this and who will be able to see it?

A private channel in Discord allows you to restrict access to text or voice communication to specific users or roles only. This is useful for confidential conversations, moderation, or limited groups.

How to create a private channel:

Click “+” next to the text or voice channels section.

Enter the channel name and type.

Enable the “Private Channel” option.

Select the roles or users who are allowed access.

How to make an existing channel private:

Open the channel settings (gear icon).

Go to the Permissions section.

Remove or restrict rights for the @everyone role (the default role for all users).

Add the necessary roles or users manually and assign permissions.

Who can see the channel:

Only those explicitly granted access. Other users won’t even see it in the list.

❗ If you encounter errors while setting up access or the channel doesn’t work as intended, post a complaint on Xolvie — we’ll help you sort it out and achieve a resolution.
