Meta Sends Glitched Threads Activity Alerts to Contacts Without Account Usage
I signed up for Threads about two years ago when the app first launched. Later, the app was discontinued, and my account remained passive in that state. When Threads reopened, my account automatically reactivated, but I do not actively use this app; in fact, I don't even open it.
Despite this, my fiancée keeps receiving notifications on her Instagram account via my Threads profile. For instance, she sees alerts like "logged into Threads X hours ago" or "shared something on Threads." I am not performing any of the actions these notifications claim—I do not make posts, nor do I enter the app. This situation breaks trust and causes misunderstandings.
Because I forgot the password to my old email address, I cannot delete or close my account myself. Therefore, I request a detailed usage log of my account from Threads; I want a complete record sent to me showing all login dates, performed actions, and posts made up to this day. Without this activity log, I cannot explain myself, which is causing issues in my relationship.
Furthermore, I demand that these notifications regarding nonexistent login and posting activity stop being sent to my fiancée via Instagram, meaning these incorrect and misleading alerts must cease completely. I request that my account security be checked, that the account be permanently closed if necessary, and that a clear explanation be provided to me on this matter.
