Economy Bookings Sold Full Insurance but Europcar Refused to Honor It

I paid for a fully insured car rental in France through the Economy Booking website. After completing the payment, you sent me a reservation confirmation stating that no additional payment would be required when picking up the vehicle.

However, when I went to pick up the car, I was asked to pay an additional €250 for extra insurance. When I explained that I had already paid for everything through the Economy Booking website, the Europcar employee told me that they do not accept reservations from Economy Booking, that those companies are irrelevant to them, that they do not work with them, and that they do not accept the insurance or services sold by Economy Booking.

They demanded more money from me, and when I said I did not want to pay again, they told me they could not give me the car. So I ask you this: What kind of system is this? If reservations made through Economy Booking are not accepted, why was I asked to pay extra insurance? And if the insurance sold by Economy Booking is invalid, why did Economy Booking charge me extra money in the first place?

There is something seriously wrong with this system. Is this setup designed to put customers at a disadvantage? I am requesting a refund of the extra money that was unfairly taken from me. You should resolve this internally and return the money you wrongfully charged me.
